Hands Downs These Are Amazing FREE Hands-On AI Projects!

I was pretty excited about the release of the FREE Hands-On AI Projects for the Classroom guides created in partnership with GM from ISTE. The actual ISTE website offers a wide variety of resources to help educators teach students about artificial intelligence (AI). The Hands-On AI Projects for the Classroom guides are designed to provide educators with a range of activities to teach students about AI across different grade levels and subject areas. Each guide includes background information for teachers and student-driven project ideas that are linked to subject-area standards. To access these guides, you can visit the Artificial Intelligence in Education section of the ISTE website at iste.org/ai. The hands-on activities in the guides cover a wide range, from "unplugged" projects that explore the basic concepts of how AI works to creating chatbots and simple video games with AI. This allows students to work directly with innovative AI technologies and demonstrate their learning. Each project is designed to be inquiry based, and there are detailed links to resources to guide teachers throughout the project. The design of each project includes a culminating performance task, and also a reflection section.

In addition to the project guides, ISTE and ASCD are developing the first AI coach specifically for educators, called Stretch AI. This tool provides tailored guidance to improve teaching, from tips on using technology to support learning to strategies for creating more inclusive learning experiences.

The ISTE website also offers a free online community where educators from around the world can share ideas and best practices for using artificial intelligence to support learning. By using these resources, educators can become more comfortable teaching with and about AI and can help prepare students to thrive as learners and leaders of the future.

I invite you to take a moment to explore the enriching AI Projects for the Classroom on the ISTE website. It could be a transformative step for both you and your students as you embark on this exciting journey into AI together.
